What is Ayadi?
Ayadi (Ayaadi) converts length and breadth into hasta units, then reads remainders as Aaya (gain), Vyaya (outgoing), Yoni, Nakshatra, Vaara and Tithi. The usual first check is Aaya greater than Vyaya. Ayadi does not place the kitchen or the entrance; that is directional zone analysis of a floor plan.

How to use this Ayadi calculator
- Enter the plot length and breadth. Use the actual measured dimensions, not rounded approximations — Ayaadi is sensitive to small changes.
- Choose your unit. Feet, metres or inches. The calculator converts internally.
- Pick a hasta value. This is the traditional cubit used for conversion. 33 inches is common for residential plots, but regional traditions differ, and the hasta you choose changes the result.
- Select the owner's nakshatra. The birth star of the person who will own or occupy the property, used for compatibility against the plot nakshatra.
- Read the factor breakdown. Check that Aaya exceeds Vyaya, and note any factor returning a remainder of zero.
What each Ayadi (Ayaadi) factor means

When the Ayadi calculator is most useful
Ayadi (Ayaadi) is most useful while dimensions can still change — when shortlisting a plot, or when fixing length and breadth on a drawing. Adjusting a wall by a few inches to satisfy Aaya-over-Vyaya costs nothing.
It is far less useful for an existing house, because the dimensions are fixed and Ayaadi offers no remedies. For a built home your effort is better spent on zone-based Vastu defects and remedies, which can be addressed without demolition.

What does Aaya greater than Vyaya mean?
Aaya is income or gain; Vyaya is expenditure. The usual first Ayadi check is that Aaya should exceed Vyaya, so the structure's numerical income exceeds its outgoing. It is often applied when fixing building dimensions during design.
Why does the Ayadi calculator ask for the owner's nakshatra?
A full Ayadi reading compares the plot nakshatra derived from the dimensions against the owner's birth nakshatra. The same plot can test differently for different owners.
